Motorcycle Repair: 1972 cb350 points adustment, cb350, cable lengths

where should the crank be to adjust both left and right points other thing is is it true that to sync the carbs on this bike is by the idle screw bike is poping anf farting out the carbs and exaust timing chain deff good and all marks are on let me know thanx

Joe the ignition is set on the F mark on the right point and LF on the left point.  The carbs are sync'ed by the throttle cable length and not the idle screws.  Back out the two idle screws until they aren't touching their stops and then open and close the throttle slightly as you watch the throttle shafts.  Adjust the cable lengths until they start to move at exactly the same time.  Then go back and adjust the idle screws evenly until the engine idles at the right speed.
