Motorcycle Repair: I stalled my bike and now nothing works, inline fuse, digital multimeter

Question
I have a 93 Honda shadow and was going up a small hill when I stalled it (new rider) Well now nothing works. When I turn the key on no light come on. I have checked the main fuse and also the battery as well as all the other fuses any ideas on what it might be? Thanks a million

Answer
BriAnne, a sudden and total loss of electrical power can be caused by a few things, but it's unlikely that stalling it on a hill is one of them. That's probably just a coincidence or the bike stalled because of the power loss. Check the battery cables to make sure they are tight and that there is no corrosion on the terminals. Make sure the battery is fully charged. Check and follow all the wires leading from the positive terminal of the battery, one of them might lead to an inline fuse that is blown. There is also a possibility that the ignition switch itself has malfunctioned internally and does not switch the power on even though the key "clicks" over to the on position. Unless you are handy with a digital multimeter, I would take the bike to a reputable bike shop and have them check the electrical system for you.
