Motorcycle Repair: 1984 honda magna 700, 1984 honda magna, carburator

Question
The bike was running fine, then I started it up one morning for about 30 seconds and washed it off with water. I let it dry for an hour or two and tried to start it and it would turn over and would try to start but not start. It sounds like it is getting some fire but not enough to start. I removed the fuel line at the carburator and had quite a bit of fuel spurt out when I tried to start it, hooked it back up and tried to start and still nothing. I used a screwdriver on the spark plug and saw the spark jump from the wire on the left bank, but I can't see spark on the right bank. Any ideas?

Answer
Brett, it sounds like you got water into the ignition somewhere.  I suspect it will dry out eventually.  If I was guessing, it's probably in the spark unit or coil wires. Sorry I can't be more help but if the right bank isn't firing, it probably won't start.
