Motorcycle Repair: 85 atc carb, air leaks, slow jet

Question
on the pilot screw in a 85 250es big red 3-wheeler, (I cannot make out the picture in my shop manual), does it go spring then o-ring then washer or does it go spring then washer then o-ring? having trouble getting the fuel mixture right after carb rebuild. thanks for any help

Answer
Larry,

-first the spring goes on the pilot screw, then the
washer and finally the o-ring.

-Your carb came standard with #130 main jet
and #38 slow jet. The float level is 18.5mm.

-Start with the pilot at 2 turns out.
If you are at higher altitude, try the screw
1 turn out.

-Make sure you have no air leaks around intake
rubbers or manifolds.

-were the jets cleaned out physically,
they are very small.

-fuel flow okay from tank?

-is valve clearance okay? Set all at .003"
