Motorcycle Repair: starter wont disengage, honda dream, starter button

Question
i tried to tighten up the throttle on my 66 honda dream 150, and had to take off the housing for the starter button. when i put it back on, i turned the ignition to the on position and bike started up without me even engaging the starter plunger. the problem is that it keeps the starter going continuously, and it will burn it out if i try to ride it, i'm sure. i took apart the housing again, and turned the key on to see what it's touching to engage, and cannot even touch it to the throttle bar to put it back together without engaging it. am i missing something?

thanks in advance!

Answer
Ben, the starter works by grounding the yellow and red wire in the right hand switch.  The button could be grounding in the switch or it could have a cut in the wire where it exits the handle bars. You will need to check the wire carefully to find where it's contacting ground.
