Motorcycle Repair: cx500 oilseals, outer rim, gear lever

hi my cx500 is leaking oil from the seal behind the gear lever is this a big job to change or can i do it fairly easily and will i be able to get a new part quickly?? thanks

Iain, I'm pretty sure you can still get those from Honda.  You can pop those out with a seal puller and the grease up the inside and outside of the new seal and drive it in.  Not a big deal but you have to be careful not to peal the rubber off the outer rim of the seal on the  edge of the crankcase bore. You may want to order a spare seal uncase you don't get it right the first time.
