Toyota Repair: 92 4runner does not blow hot hair, heater control valve, hot position

Question
I just purchased a 92 4runner, 183,000 miles but the engine was replaced 2 years ago; 4 cylinders, 5 speed manual, when I turn on the a/c it works fine while driving, it actually gets very cold but at idle speed it does not blow cold air, it does blow air. What could it be? also it got a little cold the other night so I turned the heat on and it does not get hot at all, the blower works fine(fan)'cause I can hear the motor + I feel the air coming out of the vents, but no hot air, I made sure that the a/c was off(little switch light off) and that the temp switch was to the hot position( in the dash board, switch it to red)Is there a fuse to be replaced? I like to work on cars and I usually fix the problems my self, all I do is read the repair manual, and follow the instructions and I always get good results, but I am not an expert, I think that the problem could be the heater core; Could it?, and if not how do I find out what It is. Thank you in advance and I hope to hear from you, I will let you know how It comes out at the end

Answer
If the idle is too low the compressor might be shutting off at idle, see if the comp. is turning at idle

The heat-It may be the cable to the heater control valve is off. Its at the firewall under the hood.
