Motorcycle Repair: gear ratio, rear pulley, gear ratio

Question
I have a 2004 FSTBI. I am interested in changing the gear ratio. I weigh 175 and rarely ride anyone, so I don't need loads of torque. It drives me crazy to have to shift from 1 to 2 at 20 mph and 2 to 3 at 30. I would like to get more at of each gear. What are my options and aprx $$$ involved?

Answer
You can can add either a tooth to to the pulley on the trans or go smaller on the rear pulley, which would give you want you need. Changing them to much and you would have to change the belt as well. Eiher pulley is going to be over 100.00 plus the cost of labor. I cant give you any labor rates since they are different all over the country as well as shop to shop
Good luck and happy riding
