Motorcycle Repair: vibration when from bakes applied, dial gauge, great shape

Question
Hi
I Just bought a 2000 CBR with 15k on it.
everything seems to be in great shape except that when I brake at high speed ( 80-120 km/h) there's a shake when I apply the front brakes.
Just wondering what the possible causes could be and how much ( Approximately ) is going to cost.

Also I bought that a 2000 CBR could have 15k on it cause the bike looked extra clean ( The appearance ). I just saw a bike on a website exactly like mine with 37000 on it and it looked almost as good of a shape as mine. now im wondering if the odometer was rolled back. Not that I can do anything about it now but just wanna know if there's a way to tell.

Thanks

Answer
Difficult to tell, you can try to run a carfax equivalent, but usually you can tell by the wear on the footrests and controls.  The front brakes sound like perhaps you have a slightly warped rotor.  These can be checked with a dial gauge.

Don't forget bikes always look better in pictures than in real life, so if yours looks good in real life you may find it is much better than the one in the picture.

Good Luck,  Jan
