Motorcycle Repair: suzuki s50 starting problem, suzuki s50, suzuki boulevard

Question
I have a 2006 Suzuki s50. Having trouble starting it.  When I turn the key I get absolutely nothing.. the lights don't come on and it doesn't start. However if I bounce up and down on the seat a couple of times, and then turn the key on ,it starts and the lights come on immediately. I have it hooked up to a trickle charger which indicates the battery is fully charged. I don't understand what's going on.. any ideas???
thanks
Loretta

Answer
I would love to see a video of you starting your bike by bouncing on the seat first! :-D

But seriously, I'm a little concerned here because if the bike won't start until it is bounced on or some wires are wiggled, it could also shut down on you while you are out riding when those same wires are jarred by bumps in the road... not a good situation. It sounds like you have a loose electrical connection somewhere. Have you checked the connections at the battery terminals to ensure they are tight? Have you tried removing the seat and wiggling the wires with the ignition on to see if it suddenly lights up? It might be worth your while to take it to the dealer or any reputable bike shop to have it looked at.
