Motorcycle Repair: Z200 points problem, honda cg125, contact breakers

Question
Hi,
I have a Kawasaki 1981 Z200. I was replacing the points on it and the screws used to secure them had badly worn heads so I replaced them with slightly longer ones. I wish I hadn't, as now the hex bolt holding the contact breaker cam has sheared and I think it's irrepairable damage. I dread to look at what's happened inside. My question is: do you know if the do you know if any other bikes, eg Honda CG125 contact breaker assemblies would be compatible? Z200 parts like these are quite rare in the UK.
Many thanks,
Peter.

Answer
I have absolutely no idea. I doubt that ignition parts are interchangeable between different Japanese makes, so I would only investigate that as a last option. Chances are that any small displacement Kawasaki built within a 5-10 year range of your bike MIGHT share the same contact breakers and other parts, but the only people who would know for sure would be your Kawasaki dealer. And, yes, they're probably not going to want to talk to you because your bike is so old. So... about the only thing you can do is remove the offending components from your bike and visit the junkyards to see if you can find something similar and/or do a search on eBay to see what you can find.
