Motorcycle Repair: fuse box location, blown fuse, fuse box

Question
I have a 1988 softail and I can't start it because it is not getting any power at all. No lights, no horn, nothing lights up. Like if there was no battery. The battery is good, so I'm thinking may be a blown fuse but I can not find the fuse box. Do you have any idea where it could be? or, is there anything else I should check?. I hope you can help me. Thank you very much.

Answer
An '88 Softail uses circuit breakers instead of fuses. There should be a bracket with a few small square metal boxes with wires attached to them somewhere under the seat area of your bike. The nice thing about circuit breakers is that they will continually reset themselves after tripping out until you find the problem, whereas fuses are only good for one shot and then they're fried. Anyway, if you have no power at all on your bike the first thing to do is check the connections and cables at the battery to ensure they are tight. Make sure the negative cable has a good attachment to ground on the bike frame and that the cable is not broken or corroded. Then start following the wires from the positive terminal, one of them goes directly to the starter (the biggest one) and the other will lead you to the main circuit breaker. Once you've located the breaker you can test and replace it if needed.
