Motorcycle Repair: Suzuki 450 Carbs, suzuki gs450, last ditch effort

Question
I have a 1981 Suzuki GS450 that has been sitting for many years. I am having troubles disassembling the carbs the diaphram piston is seized in the carb body, Any tips on fixing this ???

Answer
You can try spraying penetrating oil, such as WD-40, into the piston bore. Let it soak in and keep reapplying until it seeps out the bottom, then try gentle taps with a block of wood to break it free.

As a last ditch effort, you can try heating the carb body with a small propane torch and tapping the piston with a wood block. Make sure all traces of fuel and WD-40 are washed off first.
