Motorcycle Repair: yamaha/xv700/1985, virago owners club, oil viscosity

1st. motorcycle I've owned need too know what oil too use when i change it & also gearlube it is shaft driven

Answer
I'm guessing the owner's manual wasn't included in the purchase. :-) There are so many makes, models and years of motorcycles out there it is impossible for me to know the required oil viscosity and change interval on every single one. Try your question over at the Virago Owners Club, I'll bet they can be of more help to you:
