Car Alarms: aftermarket truck alarm, ford f 150, pad lock

Question
I have a 2001 Ford F-150 and it has one of those alarms on it that looks like a
pad lock mounted at the bottom of steering column (it came with the truck) well
my theft light keeps blinking on and off and it wont allow me to start my truck.
how can i disarm or i would love to uninstall the thing.  What do I do?  I have to
have my truck.

Answer
It's a device intended to receive a code for
when you are paying to a finance company and there
is a credit issue, or it's a device that needs input
from the user to allow for the vehicle to start.

No idea from your description which, but it needs
to be extracted for you to use the truck.

The best idea is to get a car alarm tech under the dash
to remove it. I won't be able to tell you how here in
this area for security reasons, but any competant
installer can take it out and repair the wiring
in under an hour.

Good luck.
