Motorcycle Repair: sportster sprocket cover, rear pulley, belt tension

Question
i need a step by step on installing a sprocket cover on my 2009 sportster, do i need a special tool for belt tension?

Answer
First you have to jack the bike up and then remove the rear axle. Once the axle is out remove the belt from the rear pulley. jack up the bike higher, so you can get the wheel out. Remove the bolts for the pulley and install the cover. Install the wheel back and make sure the caliber is on right. Put the belt back on and install the axle. If you didnt move the adjusters then you dont have to adjust the belt.
Good luck and happy riding
