Motorcycle Repair: Honda Rebel Fuel Question, float bowls, honda rebel

I just bought a 2008 Honda Rebel (275 miles) on it.  After starting it up, it seemed to leak fluid (maybe fuel) from a small black tube sticking out of the underside of the bike.  What is that tube?  It stopped when I turned the fuel valve to off.  Should I be concerned?

Michelle, the black hose is one of the carb overflow hoses.  The needles inside the carbs aren't shutting the fuel off properly.  You need to get that corrected.  The engine won't run properly when the needles don't control the fuel level in the float bowls.
