Motorcycle Repair: lowering, wheels tires, useable area

Question
Hello. 2004 FLHCI I replaced the stock 16x3 wheels & tires with 18x3.5 wheels & 150/18-70 rear & 140/18-70 front. Their around a 1/2" taller & it raises the kickstand nearly useless. Will putting a 1" rear lowering kit bring the kickstand back to its useable area & putting air in the shocks give me the clearance on the rear wheel well?

Answer
you can probably lower your bike by the 1" without problem, but adding air to the shocks will do nothing for you. All the aire does is help with damping. If you hit a hard bump it will still bottom out with more air. You can also check around with some aftermarket companies, they do make extented length kickstands
Good luck and happy riding
