Motorcycle Repair: 2002 fxdl low rider fork slides, fork tubes, fork leg

how do i change the lower slides i have new chrome ones  aslo can i do this with out pulling the fork tubes off the tree

Answer
This job can be do without pulling your forks out of the trees. First prop the bike up so the front wheel is off of the ground then remove the front wheel and brake calipier. On the under side of the lower fork leg where the axle fits you'll find a allen head screw about a 6 mm head, remove these on both legs and the lower legs will come off. Install in the reverse order. Remember to refill tubes with the correct amount of frok tube oil.
