Motorcycle Repair: how to replace clutch on a 1989 elctra glide?, clutch lever, pressure spring

Question
how to replace clutch on a 1989 elctra glide?

Answer
Drain the primary fluid. Remove the primary cover. Looking at the clutch you will see the clutch pressure spring held on by 3 bolts. remove them and the pressure spring and ring will come off. Pull the clutches out. The new clutches need to be put in primary fluid for about 15 mintues before installing. Install the clutches and plates in the same order they came out. Put the spring plate back on. In the center of the clutch is the adjuster. Loosen the locknut and turn the adjuster outward a couple of turns. Go to the cable and loosen it so you have slack in it. Go back to the adjuster and slowly turn it inward, just until it bottoms and then back out about 1/8 of a turn. Tighten the locknut. Go to the cable and adjust it until you have about 1/8 inch play in the clutch lever. Buttom up the primary and fill with fluid
Good luck and happy riding
