Tires: Conflicting Info, prelude, tires

I always get conflicting information some say stick with what came on the car some say it doesnt matter as long as they are of high quality.  I have no idea what came on my 89 prelude when I bought it new.  What brand and or things should I consider in looking for new tires for my vehicles?  thank you ! :-)

It depends on what you are trying to accomplish.

If you are happy about how the car rides and handles now, stick with something similar to what you have.

If you aren't, then you need to adjust accordingly.
