Motorcycle Repair: V65 magna starter, 1983 v65 magna, expirence

Question
i have purchased a 1983 V65 magna (for cheap) the previous owner told me the starter was broken. can you give me an idea of how much of a job this is going to be for a man with limited mechanical expirence? should i tackle it or drag it to a shop? thanks for the help

Answer
Henry, if you are sure it's a starter and not the solenoid, or starter clutch, it's a simple job.  YOu pull the starter cable, and two screws holding the starter to the crankcase, and then slide the starter out.  You'll probably have to remove the oil filter to get clearance.  That's about it.
