Question
#1 how do you diconect the master link on the drive chain?
#2 how do you line up (set or time) the timing chain?

Answer
Tim, if there is a master link with a clip, you just remove the outer spring clip and the outer link plate. Sometimes, the chains are assembled with pressed fit links, so you have to use a chain link pin tool to push the link back off again.

Timing chain is easy on a 4 stroke single...

Piston at TDC (T mark on rotor)
Camshaft lobes go DOWN  /  \ evenly. Cam sprocket will have either a line across the face that goes parallel with the cylinder head surface or a 0 punch mark that goes at 12 o'clock position and/or the sprocket bolts will line up vertically.

You will have to retract the camchain tensioner, so it doesn't interfere with the camchain installation. You have to grab the top end of the tensioner and pull it upwards, revealing a small hole where you insert a piece of wire or drill bit to lock it in place.
