Motorcycle Repair: horn wiring diagram, honda vf, horn button

hi, i installed  aused    left  control switch  i bought off ebay, my  horn wont work after hooking everything up.    horns work when hooked  directly to battery? any  suggestions?  1984 honda vf  magna 500 v 30

Tim, the horn should have power to it all the time when the key is on.  The horn button on the handlebar switch grounds the circuit to make the horn work.  Check the black wire at the horn and make sure it has 12 volts to it.  Then check continuity on the other horn wire and see if it make ground when the button is pushed in. One of those two check will identify your problem.
