Motorcycle Repair: paint, lacquer thinner, stock powder

Question
I would like to touch up my front master cylinder which is stock powder coated , and can not get the paint to stick , know of any paint I can use on it ?

Answer
I haven't tried to paint over powder coat, but Plastikote (www.plastikote.com) sells paint that's designed for use on calipers.
You could e-mail them and ask if it will stick to the powdercoat before you try.

Another possibility is to buy a small powdercoating setup and re-do it that way. I have seen them for under $200 recently.

Whatever you do you must make absolutely sure that any traces of brake fluid or any other oils are completely removed from the part before painting it. I usually wipe parts down with either lacquer thinner or methanol (depending on the finish) and then let them dry thoroughly before painting.
