Motorcycle Repair: honda ct110 backfiring, honda ct110, fuel adjustment

Question
hi rich, my honda ct110 has just started backfiring when going down hills while on the brakes and no throttle, it only seems to do it at these times. it was serviced a couple of months ago and the carby was cleaned then. any ideas on how to fix this would be much appreciated, thanks.

Answer
Mike, the air fuel adjustment is off and the carb is set too lean.  YOu need to richen up the mixture a little.  You need turn the screw in slowly until the engine speed starts t drop and then turn it out until the speed starts to drop.  Then set the screw half way between those two points.
