Motorcycle Repair: Refilling carburetor after cleaning on Honda VT500C, honda vt500c, fuel pump relay

I have had my 83 Honda VT500C in storage for about 12 years. REcently I
cleaned the carburetor, and I am stuck on how to fill the 'bowls' of the
carburetor. How can I do this?

Yea, that's a pain. The shutoff valve needs both vacuum and the fuel pump running to prime those carbs.  You can use a mity-vac to get the tank petcock to work and I usually put a little jumper wire in the fuel pump relay to turn the pump on.
