Motorcycle Repair: seat removal, 750 honda, seat removal

I have a 1982 750 Honda Mangnum.  I can't get the seat off to charge the battery.  I was once told the answer is in your tool kit but I can't figure it out.  Your help is greatly appreciated.

Tammy, sorry it's taken this long to get back to you.  Under the left side of the seat you will see a helmet lock.  Take your key and open that lock.  Captured in that locking mechinism you will see a small level.  If you pull on that lever, you will unlock the seat.
