Motorcycle Repair: EVO vent to oil tank, oil tank, carbon buildup

Question
I have several EVO powerd bikes. Some case vent and some head venters. All seem to collect oil in the case if they are not ridden regular. Then I get an oil puke when I start them up. Resident experts say its a common issue. I have replaced checks in the pumps with poor results. Why not vent the case or head to the oil tank?

Answer
If you vented everything to the oil tank the oil tank would be pressurized and the dipstick would blow out.
Its not really a common issue, it is just somthing that happens as the motor gets older. Here is a fix for your problem.
Remove the check ball and inspect it for carbon or pits. If its bad, replace it. When you put in the new ball, drop it in and with a punch and hammer tap it so it reseats. Over time, you get a slight carbon buildup on the seat which holds the ball slightly open. You can also remove the oil pump and clean it and using a old pushrod and fine griding compound, relap the seat
Good luck and happy riding
