Motorcycle Repair: neutral switch installation, oil lines, installation question

QUESTION: I have an 01 Fat Boy and need the procedure for installing the neutral switch.. Can you help me ? thanks, Penny

ANSWER: Locate the netural switch on the trans. It will have a single wire going to it. the switch just unscrews and then you screw in the new one and attach the wire

QUESTION: how do I get to the switch? It has a chrome cover on it, which is directly beneath the 2 oil lines coming out of the oil tank. Can i take the cover off without taking the oil lines off?  This switch has 2 wires, not one....   Thanks....

Your right on the wires. I was thinking of another year. the chrome cover should just slide off. then you use a wrench to remove the switch. Try to push the oil lines out of the way. Its a tight fit, but it can be done
