Motorcycle Repair: 83 goldwing headlight, starter button, strange one

I have an 83 goldwing.  The headlight works when i turn on the key, but when i start the bike it quits working, and doesn't come back on.  after you shut the bike off for a few minutes the light will come back on until you start it..i have replaced the headlight lamp... any suggestions??

That's a strange one.  I've not seen this problem.  The headlight normally goes out when you push the starter button but there's no relay in the circuit that I'm aware of.  It's all in the right hand switch.  You may just need to clean the contacts in the right hand switch.
