Motorcycle Repair: front end bearings, perse performance, professional frame

Question
QUESTION: I bought a perse performance triple tree set. At like 70 mph I get a side to side sway does the lower bearing need to be pressed onto the trees like a stock hd?   Its a 1999 sporty that's been raked to 40 degrees and streached by a professional frame maker.  Its making me wanna sell it after all the work invested.   Any help appreciated.

ANSWER: How much length did you add to the forks after you raked it?

QUESTION: 4 over or 6 over the length is on the money the the trail also.  The trees are 6 degree.  Its not a trail problem. Wheels are aligned perfect.  I'm out of things to check. Just need to know if aftermarket trees need the bottom bearing pressed on like factory trees.

Answer
the bottom bearing should be pressed on all the way tight to the dust cover. Check your play in the bearing also. You can do this by raising the front end and pull on the wheel inline with the bike. There should be no play at all. If you have play, then the fork nut is to loose. If you are still getting sway, your forks might be flexing and you can add a fork brace
