Motorcycle Repair: Cant get my motorcycle to stay running, vacuum line, gs550l

my bike is a 1980 GS550L suzuki i just got brand new carbs all the jets are clean. i put in brand new coals and spark plugs it will start sometimes but it will ideal 4 a sec and then the motor is flooded the carbs are not the problem i no 4 shore but can the vacuum line on the tank be constantly droppings gas if not working right ive been trying everything the only thing im thinking it is now is the vacuum line on the tank can you right this one back to me ASAP plz thank u 4 your time

It sounds like the diaphragm in the petcock is leaking.

The vacuum line goes from one carb throat to the diaphragm of the petcock. When the engine is turning over the intake suction provides vacuum on the diaphragm to open the valve. If there is a hole in the diaphragm the fuel can be drawn through it and down the vacuum line into the cylinder, flooding it.

Your dealer should be able to order a kit for rebuilding the petcock and instructions for disassembling & reassembling it should be in your shop manual.
