Motorcycle Repair: oil leaking through the air filter, carburater, rubber valves

Question
QUESTION: I have a softail Harley that I replaced the original engine with approximately a 2003 S&S 107, w/Super G Carb. The bike has not been run in a couple of years. I got it out and cranked it up and I have oil pumping through the backplate of the carburater. It looks like a breather tube going to the bottom of the motor, on my other S&S there is a nibbit  located there in the engine block. Anyway when the motor is trying to crank or when you kill it it pumps oil out, you can tell it is pumping out at the same pace as the motor is turning over. Any thoughts?

ANSWER: Has the bike been sitting for a while before starting it?

QUESTION: Yes Sir, it has been setting for 3 or 4 years.

Answer
What is happening is, since the bike has been sitting, is oil weeped into the bottom end. The oil pump has a check valve that is suppose to stop weeping. Over time oil has gone passed it. If you start the bike and let it run for a while it should stop. the other thing it cound be is there are some rubber valves in the heads that is suppose to keep alot of oil from going into the carb when running. Sitting that long might have deteriated them and they need replaced
Good luck and happy riding
