Motorcycle Repair: replacing gaskets 73 honda 750, honda 750, chrome pieces

This is my first bike and im attempting to do most of the small work myself. I have chrome pieces that Im ready to install (valve cover, fork cover, oil filter cover, clutch cover and stator cover). Will I need to drain the oil? Which can I expect to leak oil as it is removed? Does each gasket require sealer or are any simply dry seals?

Shawn, all of those covers have some amount of oil in them.  The oil tank normally will drain into the crankcase so you could get as much as 3.5 quarts out but I doubt that all of the oil will drain out. You should expect to get a couple of quarts out.
