Motorcycle Repair: brake light stay on, brake switch, brake lever

with key in on position both wires are hot at brake pedal switch with both wires removed,also brake light stays on with wires removed,does power go through pedal switch if front brake switch is bad

There are two switches for the brake light:

the front brake lever
the pedal

either one will close the circuit and light up
the brake light.

The pedal usually has a screwnut to set how far it
will travel before it lights up. You may need to adjust
this.

The front lever has a sliding contact which can also
be adjusted depending on the bike.
