Motorcycle Repair: 2006 1200r ROADSTER, drag pipes, clutch cable

Question
hi i was wondering how to remove the clutch cable from the primary in order to install a chrome primary cover? and also i took my bike to my local dealer and had it re jetted for the drag pipes that was on it and ever since then it seems that i have lost power mainly below 3500 rpm and its hesitates some times when u hit the throttle when at idle and back fires thru the card at other times i took it back to them they rechecked it and said nothing was wrong and the rough idle is from the pipes? what would u say about this?  so i bought new pipes samson calibers and installed them it does idle a little better but there is still a loss of power. will i need to have it rejetted for these pipe i did put the 1.75 baffels in the pipes they also came with 2.0 baffels if these might work better? oh the bike has about 5000 miles and i always us 91 octane gas from qt. thanks mike

Answer
To remove the clutch cable, loosen the adjuster on the cable os the cable is shorter.Remove hte cable from the clutch lever.Looking in the primary cover you will see where the cable is attached. The lever that its attached to has a flat on it to slide out. So you need to rotate it so it comes out thenremove the cable from it and unscrew the cable from the primary cover.
Your carb sounds like it needs rejetted. Your best be is to get a dyna-jet kit and install it. Its pretty easy and you should be able to do it yourself. Just follow the directions.
Good luck and happy riding
