Motorcycle Repair: carburetor, harley chopper, mukini

Question
I have a 2008 custom harley chopper with a mukini carb. I went out to shop today and it was leaking a solid stream of gas from what appears to be a side discharge. However there wasn't a hose attached or a cap of any kind. Is this normal? What is the cause? Should there be a hose or cap of some sort?
By the way I did not turn off the petcock.....would that have anything to do with it?
Thanks for your help!

Answer
Make sure when you stut the bike down you turnt he petcock off. It sounds like to float is stuck open, letting gas flow out. ride the bike and see if the float doesnt come unstuck. If it doesnt, then you will have to remove the carb and the bowl on the carb and check the float
Good luck and happy riding
