Auto body repair & detailing: Seamless repair, grit, solvent

Question
Is there a way to do a small repair where there is not a body line and not do a larege area,,,

Answer
Yes you can do what is called a blend. You do your repair and prime it. Then you sand primed area with wet 400 grit and water. Keep sanding to just one inch of primer to keep repair as small as possible. Then scuff area lightly With 3M gray scuff pad and 3M scuffing paste. Scuff a foot around area. Wash and dry off car and mask off area. Then blend out base coat keeping it with in two inches around primer. Then blend out clear coat about 10 inches around base coat and with in scuffed area. Then add some blending solvent to the clear coat about a 50/50 mix and blend clear out to 1 or 2 inches around the outside of scuffed area. Let dry then buff area lightly.
