hello rich,

    I'm being offered a cx500 from a guy I know for 300$. He tells me that it was in perfect condition when he stopped riding it about two years ago and that it has been in his garage ever since. My question to you is if I did buy this bike what kind of work do you think I would be in for so that I could get it into fine order (bike does start with a battery jump).

Miano, it could be as simple as installing a new battery or it could require a complete carb rebuild along with and fuel tank flush and sealing.  It's really hard to tell.  The fact that it runs when you jump it is a pretty good sign.
