Motorcycle Repair: heating, suzuki gsxr 750, radiator cap

Question
I have a 1991 suzuki gsxr 750 that get pretty hot while riding a even while warming up. It still has good pull but gets really hot. Ive changed the oil and filter(10w40) of course and it still heats. It will actually cut off after awhile...assuming due to the heating. What can cause this? Thanks already.

Answer
Patrick, first of all i cant really remeber but if its water cooled you have either a bad thermostat or a bad cooling fan sensor that kicks on your cooling fan when the bike starts to heat up, be carefull not to run it till it shuts off that is very dangerous to you and your bike it could lock up on you causing an accident are you could ruin your motor. listen and look ant your cooling fan when you r temp usuall starts to go pass the middle line the cooling fan should come on if it does then you have a bad thermostat so the water is heating up in the block and not flowing are your water pump is staring to go bad crank the bike remove the radiator cap while its running but be very carefull, look at the water in the radiatior if when the coolong fan comes on you dont see the water flowing thats you problebm  abad water pump or thermostat.ok buddy let me know how it turns out ok.god bless.
