Motorcycle Repair: Oil spitting out of hose, ultra groundpounder, oil pump

QUESTION: Hi i know only harleys but im sure you know about s&s engines.ive got a 99 ultra groundpounder with a 113 s&s motor.i just bought it and with a new battery and good gas it starts fine.there is a hose coming from the case on the right hand side of the bike that is left of the oil pump and below the rear motor mount.it had a breather like end on it.it doent leak when it sits but when it cranks over or runs it just spits out oil.thanks for any answer i just wanna drive the bike!

ANSWER: If you start the bike and let it run for a couple of minutes does the oil still flow out?

QUESTION: yes it does it drips out.i put a bolt in there(end of hose) just to keep it from dripping.

Answer
When running the bike you cant plug that hose, its a vent for the lower end. there is not much you can do for the dripping unless you run the hose so it is higher than the vent, then the oil will flow back into the motor
