Motorcycle Repair: No rear spark, plug wires, position sensor

Question
QUESTION: I have a 2004 Harley Lowrider Fuel-injection. I have no rear spark (the front cylinder will run), I changed spark plugs, plug wires, coil and crank position sensor, took it to the dealer and they put it on the computer and no codes, so they are stumped. I don't know what else it could be and neither do they (the dealer technician). Can you help any ideas?

ANSWER: Swap the plug wires on the coil side and see if the same plug does not fire. Also, swap plugs with the swapped wires and try it and let me know.

QUESTION: I swapped them and it's still the same the front will fire, (I know this because I got quite a jolt)the rear is not firing. Is there a possibility that a wire got damaged somewhere and will cause that? I had a recall on the bike last year and had the tank replaced in September of 2007, I was thinking maybe a wire got pinched and finally wore to the point of shorting out or something. I've asked everyone I could think of about this "No rear spark" and they cannot believe it. So should I pull the tank and check the wires underneath or am I just pulling at straws? I know it just has to be a wire.

Answer
I would start by tracing the wires back from the coil to the ECM to see if you have a pinched or broken wire. Check all the connections to make sure they are tight and no corroded. If you cannot find anything then you will have to replace the ECM.
Good luck and happy riding
