Motorcycle Repair: Third gear, vin number, fatboy

Question
I am cruising about 40 mph in second gear I shift into third gear and the bike feels like it has downshifted.Is this normal?It picks up faster but it just feels like it is pulling harder.I just bought a 2002 Fatboy.  ALso...It says FlSTFI on paperwork but I heard that if it had a choke it was carbed.

If you have a choke and a carb, then its not injected. Check the VIN number on the paperwork against the VIN number on the frame and motor to make sure they match
On your trans, once you hit a certain RPM and shift, the bike will feel like it picked up, so it sounds like its fine
