Motorcycle Repair: bleeding brakes, bleeding brakes, hydraulic brakes

Question
how do I bleed the front brakes on a 2005 Honda 250 recon 4 wheeler?

Answer
Sorry Darla, but my experience is with pre-82 Hondas but normally, all hydraulic brakes bleed about the same.  Put a clear plastic hose over the bleeder valve and run it down to suitable container. You use a clear tube because you want to be able to see when the air stops coming out. Then pump up a little pressure on the brake lever with several pumps on the brake lever.  Then while hold the lever in, open the bleed valve. You will get a small volume of brake fluid into the hose.  Close the valve while you are still holding in the brake lever. Repeat until all of the air is out of the system and the lever feels firm.  Be sure and remember to keep the reservoir full while doing this or you will pump a bunch of air into the system and you'll have to start all over again.
