Motorcycle Repair: Rear Brakes and Engine noise!, honda cb, rear shoes

Question
I have this engine tick whenever I ride my 1983 Honda CB 450SC.  It is only when I am cruising down the road.  It is not making the noise at idle, and how would I go about changing my rear shoes?  They are squealing.

Answer
You have to pull the rear wheel to get to the brake shoes. Once the axle is out and the wheel is off, you'll be able to lift the brake hub out and replace the shoes.

As far as the ticking does, it make the noise when you rev the engine up no load?  If not, there may be something else on the bike tapping when wind hits it.  If it in the engine, you should be able to make it happen by getting the engine warm and reving the bike.  Unless of course it's detonation in the cylinders.  You can fix that by getting a higher grade of gas.
