Motorcycle Repair: rear seat removal, rear seat removal, shadow vt1100c

I just purchased a 1986 Honda Shadow VT1100C. I don't have the owners manual and don't know how to remove the rear seat so I can put saddle bags on my bike

I can tell you for sure how the VT700 come off and I'm guessing the 1100s are similar.  On the left side of the bike right behind where the shock mounts there's a helmet lock.  Use the key to open the helmet lock.  Under the little tab that opens up you will find a small lever.  Pull it and it will release the two latches holding on the seat.
