Motorcycle Repair: needed tools to attach engine guard, honda rebel 250, torque wrench

Question
hello, and thank you for taking time to help me out...I purchased a Honda rebel 250 and want to attach the full size engine guard I purchased.  I would like to know whether or not a torque wrench is required to remove and re-attach the necessary engine bolt for this otherwise seemingly straightforward appearing task.

Answer
No, it's not that critical....if you have a feel for how tight it need to be without over tightening it, you don't need a torque wrench.  You can strip the threads or worse, break the bolt if you over tighten it and if it's not tight enough it can vibrate loose.  A torque wrench is always the safe way to go because it takes the guess work out if you don't have much mechanical experience.   Just snug it up good and you should be okay.  If you check it once in a while to make sure it's not coming loose, you'll be okay.
