Motorcycle Repair: 1977 Honda CB 360 T main fuse blowing, amp fuse, honda cb 360

Question
Hey Rich, My 77 Honda cb 360t was running perfect...my son dropped it (just moving it) and as of the next day blows the main 15 amp fuse when the kill switch is turned to "Run"...when in the off position and key is on, the lights, horn, turn signals all work perfectly. I have searched high and low for broken or unplugged wires...none...i took the kill switch apart, seems fine...i tried some tests but really don't know what to look for...there was continuity between the positive and negative battery cables when there was no battery in, if that helps...i get 12.8 volts when the key is on and it doesn't change when i turn the kill switch on...please help...thanks

Answer
Dennis, I'm guessing it was dropped on the right side.  If that's the case, try taking the right hand handlebar switch apart.  I think you may find the internal of that switch are damaged allowing the black and white wire to be grounded.

Good luck
Rich
