Motorcycle Repair: Tank removal, tank removal, gas tank

QUESTION: How do I remove the gas tank from my 06 Street Bob?

ANSWER: carberated or fuel injected?

Drain the fuel tank. Disconnect the fuel lines. they are attached like a air fitting. Pushup and pull down. remove the bolts that holds the speedo and tac cover on and lift it off. unplug the wires. Disconnect the cross over fuel line. use a pan under it, it will probably have gas in it. remove the bolts holding the tank on after removeing the seat and the tank should lift off
